We love this camera!!! We even had to have it repaired and something jammed up the flash and they replaced it. Love best buy they always take care of us and would always recommend the canon 2TI
I absolutely LOVE this camera. I am just starting out as a professional photographer, even though I have been doing it for free for years, and this camera is AMAZING, I almost hate to edit any of the pictures that I take with it, and usually don’t have to edit too much. The picture quality is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I definitely recommend this camera to anyone, the amateur, the pro, the “soccer mom”. The continuous shooting is wonderful, you don’t miss a thing. This is also my personal camera, and speed is EXTREMELY important to me with a 6 year old and a 7 month old, I don;t want to miss anything!!! I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!! I suggest at least a 16GB memory card as well!!!
I really like it but have some trouble with the video mode. It slips out of record often. I have taken it back to the store and they recommend that I format the card and try again, that it might have bad sectors. I have done that and it happens still, but not as frequent. This one thing is a little irritating.
Great camera battery last a long time. Takes great pictures and has good features. Lenses can be very expensive thought.
This was my first DSLR camera. I found it very easy to use. Didn’t see any advantage beside the flip out screen on the T3i, so I got this one for less money. The camera takes great pictures, I highly recommend this camera! Make sure you get a memory card with a high write speed if you plan on using the video option. I bought a 30MB/s card and it works great. I bought a cheap filter to protect the lens as well.
This is my First DSLR, And it is great. It takes great Pictures. I am still figuring out all the bells whisles, will be a while. I Don’t like the position of some of the buttons, and the way they work. Since i am just novice Maybe I will adjust to them. I wanted a camera like this for years, but could not afford one. It is a great deal. I noticed that the EF 55-250mm lens you have for 299.99 sells for 149.99 at the Canon online store.
This camera takes great pictures and I am very happy that I choose the Cannon over the Nikon. I love this camera. Just right for a new beginner. I wanted to take better pictures of my grandsons at their school functions and at their four wheel races. Purchase this item if you want a great camera.
Excellent camera for the price.Ease to use, great features and excellent pictures
We absolutely love this camera! It takes great pictures and is very easy to use…we would highly recommend it!!
I shopped around allot for a good camera for family use and I wanted something with some Umf to it and this was the Camera. they have a newer version of it with a swivel screen to it but I at the time didn’t see the need for it so this was perfect. I highly recommend it. I was able to get this a a package deal and it truly was the way to go. It takes amazing pictures and you dont have to be a professional to use it.
Pros: I don’t know anything about camera so first I bought a $250 Samsung (not mentioning the model) point and shoot camera which took ok pictures but not as nearly good as my old $90 cannon point and shoot. Being frustrated with the image quality I have decided to sell both of my cameras and get this EOS Rebel T2i. It has preconfigured settings which allows a person like me who has no idea what he is doing, a chance to take amazing pictures. You can’t compare a point and shoot to this monster. The lens that comes with this camera is good enough for parties and other usual events. After a week my friend showed me the manual mode where I can set ISO, shutter speed, fixed focus for fast picture capturing (given the target is not running around) and RAW saves which the software that comes with this camera can open and process better then PS CS5. At that point I have realized, I just begun to learn how to use this camera. The manual is a book so it will take me some time to master it.
Cons: Does not come with mini HDMI cable or HDMI to Mini HDMI Cable Adapter. In video record mode it does not auto focus but that’s does not bother me, I can manually focus the lens gently without the noise being captured in the video. My friends regret for not getting this model because of the video recording feature and now I worry that it may be stolen!!! Other Thoughts: I have asked around my work place how much this camera cost and they have said $1500 just for the body. So glad newegg.com is selling it for lower price. Oh and never touch the lens, if you need to clean it then use a special cloth which you can find in any eye glass store, camera store, Target, Wal-Mart. I use my eye glass cleaning cloth which works perfectly. If you need to capture audio from a far distance, then use a wireless microphone and connect the 3.5mm jack directly to the camera.
Great for photos at family gatherings
There’s no need to buy a camera that’s more advanced unless photography is your daily profession. The camera feels good and sturdy in your hand, and the controls are easy to find and are labeled well. It has also become my primary video camera as well. You will be amazed by the quality. The only down side of the camera for me is the battery, especially when shooting video. There is no AC adapter for backup. You should buy a couple of extra batteries at the start when you purchase the camera.
I like the personalized presets
Pros: Most of the features of the more expensive Canon 7D camera in a more affordable package.
Cons: For the price, I can’t complain about much. Other Thoughts: With the 600D just released, it is slightly better, but slightly more expensive… just something to look at.
Great for sports. Easy to use. I can now get all those hard to get shots for my kids sports.
Gorgeous! why didn’t I get it (or its predecessors) earlier ?
I purchased this product as an upgrade from my 1000D Canon. I really am enjoying the performance as I have a budding photography business.
Was looking for the T2i for around 2 months to get the best deal. I purchased it on 7th Jan, 2011 with 699. The shipping was pretty fast (within 5 days) and I opted for the min one 4.24. Believe me it is hard to get a better deal than this one for this highest selling DSLR camera. Still Images are just excellent, but the feature that pushed me to get this one is the Video quality. I was mainly toggling between this one and NIKON D3100, but the video in D3100 is not smooth like this one. Check the various samples in YouTube to do the comparative analysis. It is extremely rich in quality, the one that you will get only from high end professional camcorders only. This is an asset and other things that you should buy to protect your assets are: i. UVA Filter – $35 ii. Lens Hood – $3.25 iii. Lens Cleaner – $6.00 iv. Camera Case – $23 v. Extra LP-E8 Battery – $14 vi. CP Filter – $14
Pros: This is my first DSLR and it wasn’t hard at all to figure out the camera. I was able to start taking good pictures right out of the box and as the more I used it the better I got. I am still no expert and I am not trying to be but that is what is great, you can take great pictures and have little knowledge of how to.Settings are easy to change and there are a lot of them. Image quality is excellent, even in low light they turn out great.Lots of people said that the stock lens isn’t good but for me the images look great, but what do I know, I am not an expert. But at least it is a good starter lens and can be upgraded with many other lenses.Video looks great as well and the only down side to video is no auto focus (which I guess is a problem with all DSLRs).
Cons: My biggest problem I have with it is that I take pictures at highest quality and also store the raw image and once there is about 50 pictures left to take it starts to slow up and display a please wait message (can’t remember exact message) and you can’t do anything. And that is with a fast SD card (it says 20 MB/s on the card). This is annoying but if you put in a fresh card you are back in business.Wish it had GPS on it but that would just cause the camera to cost a lot more. Other Thoughts: As I said before this is my first DSLR and I have found it easy to use and learn. Even if you use the preset settings you can get great pictures from this camera. The only other DLSR I have to compare to is someones elses DSLR. Can’t say what it was but they spent about $700 on it and it destroyed there DSLR. And they even had a $300+ lens and it still destroyed it with the stock lens.I would recommend this camera to anyone that want a DSLR and are a little nervous spending so much money, as I was.
Pros: Very good camera for what you pay; takes great shots, fairly high resolution compared to most point-and-shoots, lots of room for customization in it, etc., very bright and clear screen for reviewing photos.
Cons: Kit lens isn’t the greatest. Not a bad first lens, but you’ll want better once you get going.
Pros: Compared to every other camera I have owned this one takes the cake but of course this is my first DSLR camera. The picture quality is outstanding. There are tons of features to learn, a class would be nice LOL!
Cons: None yet
Pros: This camera cannot be beat for the price. It takes wonderful stills, has great features -but the video has some issues.
Cons: Video banding:I noticed subtle banding as I recorded video against a white wall. The higher I set my shutter speed, the worse it got. It was like watching an old tv set with bad reception -thick banding lines moving slowly up the screen. Canon suggested shooting under different lighting conditions (???… really?) and they were right; the worst was flourescent lighting (the donut ring type), not as bad under CF bulbs and no issues in sunlight. I didn’t have halogen or led lights to test with. This banding is an issue on all T2i’s, I have found. You just can’t shoot under certain types of light without seeing this phenomenon. Test first.Audio sensitivity:There’s no continuous autofocus and that means doing it manually. But since the mic is attached to the body, the noise from you turning the zoom and focus ring will be captured (quite loudly, actually). So you have to either shoot a non-moving target (pre-focused, no zoom) or use a separate mic. Other Thoughts: Don’t count on class 10 rated memory cards for sustained write speeds. I use a Transcend class 10 SDHC and it sputters when asked to save HD video and continuous RAW+jpg shots. What to do? Sandisk Extreme comes to the rescue… at 3 times the price.Lense hood blues: I bought a collapsible rubber lense hood for an 18-55mm lense. But at 18mm, the corners of your photos will have caught a good chunk of the hood. Fail #1.I then bought a tulip petal type hood to avoid Fail #1. A great setup for Fail #2 because the sellers don’t tell you that you screw on the hood via the filter threads. The end result is a hood lense that rotates every time you focus, giving you black patches in your photos as the hood’s long edge moves around.
Pros: This camera has so many great features and takes amazing photographs!
Cons: I didn’t purchase this camera sooner! Other Thoughts: This camera is so much fun to use and very easy to navigate. The pictures this camera takes are amazing! I would recommend this camera to any amateur photographer looking to improve their skills! If I were to do it over I would have purchased the Canon Rebel T2i Body and purchase another lens separately. The kit lens 18-55 didn’t have enough zoom for the photos that I take. I would have purchased a 18-135 in place of the 18-55 kit lens.
Pros: Camera is great, it takes great pictures. The focus is fast. The resolution on the lcd screen is excellent.
Cons: None Other Thoughts: Although newegg’s shipping speed was excellent they did a TERRIBLE job at packing this camera. so much money spent on packing materials but is not used properly. The box to the camera was damaged due to a poor packing job. This is an 800 dollar camera not a stick of memory. Newegg needs to train their staff on how to properly pack shipments.
