Got a great deal on this 3D TV after searches online and top reviews from CNET (Panasonic Plasma’s lead in 2011). The picture is absolutely beautiful and Viera apps are pretty slick as well. Highly recommend this set.
I am very particular about my audio and video equipment and have spent considerable amounts for both and can say without any reservation that this is the best picture quality I have seen anywhere. This is my second Panasonic Plasma TV and could not be happier. Compared to any LCD this baby rocks. Excellent definition, smooth and seamless motion, and rich explosive colors all combine to create a terrific picture. I have had the set for a little over a month and have not had any troubles.
I’ve been looking for a new tv for about 4 years. Yes 4 years. That’s a lot of models and a lot of researching. I pulled the trigger on this panny and retired my sony 51″ widescreen projection (bought in 2002 for 2 grand!). Had it narrowed down to this bad boy or the samsung 59″. I decided on the panny for its history of awsome plasma tv’s not to mention it was on sale. All I can say is wow! I love this tv. It goes perfect with its surroundings in my newly remodeled man cave. The picture blows away any LED on the planet. blacks are deep and the colors pop on this thing. Everything looks fantastic. Sports (i watch everything), movies look great, gaming? Well, if you own a ps3 or an xbox 360 get ready to be immersed in whatever you are playing. The graphics are so clear and rich that I now see what i was missing when i played on my sony. So much more detail. Unbelievable. When i make a purchase this expensive i usually have some buyers remorse. Not with this bad boy! I’m still grinnin from ear to ear everytime i turn it on.. I can’t comment on 3d because I haven’t used it yet. No hurry for me to go 3d. I just want a good picture to watch my sports and play games. Hook it all up to a 7.1 system and shake the house down ( I don’t use the tv speakers). Got my mount on the wall and as soon as my buddy comes to help me put it on the mount, i’ll be set. If you are on the fence about this tv, make the leap. You will NOT regret it one bit. This thing is AWSOME! BUY IT NOW!

I have researched several LED LCD and Plasma TV’s and was debating between Samsung UN60D6420U and Panasonic TC-P55ST30. Settled for Panasonic TC-P55ST30 at the end because of its superior picture quality and aggresive pricing. The picture quality of this TV beats some of the high end TV’s. See it for yourself by visiting a TV dealer who has 55+ inch LED LCD and Plasma TV’s setup side by side. Purchased the Panasonic 55ST30 TV on sale on May 19th for $1509.99. But was pleasantly surprised the next day when I went to pickup the unit at the Best Buy Springfield, VA location. The price was further reduced by $300 and only paid $1209.99. WIFI dongle IS included in the box even though the product specification does not mention it. If you are a FIOS subscriber and having issues with automatically configuring WIFI connection, try manually setting up the connection using 192.168.1.222 as the IP address assigned to the TV,192.168.1.1. as the IP address for the Gateway and DNS server IP address, and 255.255.255.1 for the subnet mask. These setting worked for me after multiple failed auto configuration attempts.
I originally bought the 50 inch ST30 but I decided to return it for the 55. I sit about 7.5 feet from the TV and I feel the 55 is the perfect size for me. Setup: Setup was very easy. The TV is pretty heavy but I was able to get it on the base and up on my entertainment center by myself. I would recommend getting help though as it wasn
I called Pannie Customer Service because the brightness went from bright to dull in standard mode. They said that was a known problem and their “engineers are working on it”. What else aren’t they telling us.
This is my first high def tv of this size and I couldn’t be happier. I almost got sucked in to the LED hype but after doing my research and prioritizing picture quality above all else, I went with the Plasma. This TV is also as energy efficient as most LEDs so that also helped. The picture quality is amazing, however I wish my Dish satellite could get as high def as my Blu Ray. The Internet apps are cool, but not too many of them and not really anything I can’t get somewhere else. I haven’t used the 3D yet and not sure if I will with how much the glasses cost. The preset picture modes on this tv aren’t great, except “vivid” and the PRO picture settings are pretty hard to figure out. I am NOT going to spend 200 bucks to pay Best Buy to tell me which settings are best for my home either!! Overall great size TV and picture quality along with plenty of other features to keep this TV competitive for years to come.
Panasonic’s plasma tv’s are in a league of their own. I’ve owned multiple Panasonic tv’s and only have gotten rid of them to upgrade to newest technology. Awesome Plasma! LED LCD have no advantage over plasma’s, especially Panasonic’s.

i bought this tv in april of 2011,it is my first plasma an first 3-d set.avatar an tron in 3-d is hands down the best ive ever seen.there is a 3d setting to where you can push the 3d back or have it come out of the tv,i like pushing it back which is -3 on your 3d tv settings.the sound is great better than expected.i got 2 sony lcd tvs almost 3 years ago,an the picture is bright an the 120hz is amazing which made me at first dissapointed with this panasonic, but after a week of watching ive noticed how great the colors stand out,the 600 hz also makes the 3d flawless.i almost returned this 55st30 panasonic,im greatful i dident, that would have been a big mistake. i got this tv ,the skype camra, an the 4 year warrenty for 1800 im very satisf
First and foremost, after owning this TV I have concluded that anyone who pays twice as much for an LED is completely foolish. I consider myself to be relatively knowledgeable when it comes to TVs. I am very familiar with the different technologies and what each manufacturer has to offer. That said, I own 5 TVs and 3 of them are Panasonic plasmas. It’s a fact that Plasma is the superior technology to LCD/LED, and when you consider the bang for the buck factor, to me it’s a no brainer. I purchased the Panasonic 55″ ST30 for $1500 at Best Buy and for that price is an absolute steal. In fact, I would be just as happy if I bought the TV for it’s normal $1800-$1900 price point b/c the TV is that impressive. The black levels are impressively deep, the colors are accurate, and the greyscale is very good. This model is also more cosmetically appealing than past Panasonics. To be more specific the bezel is thinner and the TV itself is about 2″ deep, which is a nice improvement over last year’s G model. In sum, this is an incredible TV.
This tv is just awsome picture is great easy to use and set up 3d blu rays are mind blowing on this tv the viera cast tv is is a waste for me but all else is great for the price
