I didn’t buy this TV. I was going to based on great reviews. I mean, why not – it’s big, it’s cheap and it’s plasma from Panasonic, so at least the picture should be great, right? Not really. This is the first TV ever that I noticed how bad blacks were. This TV doesn’t have blacks, it has grays instead. ST30 model next to it was brighter and had better blacks at the same time.

I bought this television based off the reviews I had read online and after about a month of viewing, I can say that I am completely satisfied with this TV. The picture quality is fantastic, much better than my 52 inch LCD. During the first couple weeks, I was concerned about some blurring when playing video games, but have found that after a light break-in, this goes away. I honestly don’t think that the sound is as awful as some people on here would have you believe. Overall I highly recommend this TV, especially if you can grab it while it’s on sale, like it seems to be every other week.

The TV is sleek and has great picture quality and sound.
We decided to purchase this television because we’re not yet fans of 3-d home tv, nor did we want to pay for it, either. Our room is narrow and long and has a lot of natural light. This television is working out perfectly. It’s has a gorgeous picture and is very viewable in the sunlight, with little glare. We appreciate the sturdy stand supporting the width and weight of this TV. Setup was quite easy and the controls are very easy to figure out. Still working through figuring out the optimal custom screen settings for our viewing preferences, Some reviewers have issues with the sound, but we find it sufficient. The reason might be that the television is inset into a 3-sided entertainment center, which may help project sound better than a freestanding setup. BestBuy’s pricematching made this an excellent buy by saving us $375 on the list price! SCORE!
Wow, the picture quality on this HDTV has rich, deep, vibrant colors. This is my first plasma TV. I have three LCD/LED TV’s, so it took time to get used to the darker picture, but once you play around with the settings (I have it on ‘game’ mode) the picture quality is simply incredible, especially at night. This is a great HDTV for all purpose use, but with Playstation 3 gaming, the picture quality is unreal. The sound quality is just average but most people have a home theater system hooked up. Overall this is a great HDTV.
I have had this plasma for about 3 weeks now and it has such an awesome picture and black level. When I was comparing it to the competitors models like it in the store it seemed by far the best (and as for the black level it was even better than the entry level 3D plasmas, except for the 3D version of this TV). Setup at home was easy, although you do have to attach the base even though it looks like its already attached in the box, and it has a very sturdy metal base, which is nice because the last few plasmas I have had had plastic connecting the base to the TV. There is no noticeable image retention when changing channels and also when gaming. I have gamed about 6 hrs straight on it and when I went back to TV not even a ghost image of ANY of the static parts of the game. However, even on gaming mode and at its brightness you’ll need to adjust the in-game gamma higher than normal because the black level is so good on this unit. Also, the Netflix menu is very cool and you can actually browse movies on their streaming list as well as access your Que. The only thing that seems a bit buggy is the new CATS (their brightness room adjustment). It is a bit sensitive at times and if you have blinds that can sway its best to leave it off as it messes with the senors. Overall if your looking for great picture without having to go to 3D to get it, this is your TV!
It took a long time to buy a new TV and we’ve done a lot of research. We upgraded from a rear-projection HDTV to a flat screen and wanted to stay below $1000. This TV met or exceed every expectation. The picture is amazing, bright and has colors and true blacks I have never seen on one of our TVs. I video game a lot and we watch movies and sports all the time. This is a great TV. The sound is only OK and is as if everyone speaking is in a tin can. You must add a surround sound system to make this TV immaculate. Great tv just over $1000 with tax, if your looking for a good plasma for a good price buy this! Also the sound it really not bad at all. I don’t use any surround sound and the tv speakers work great.
I’m a big time A/V nerd and I couldn’t be happier with this TV. The picture is amazing; don’t assume that LCDs are better because they appear brighter next to plasmas in the store. Plasmas have more life-like colors and better blacks, the only downside is power consumption. If you’re on the fence, get this TV
Great HD TV! Plasma is still the best technology out there with the crisp detail, deep blacks, and smooth motion. You’ll need to purchase a sound system as with any new TV though.
I use this unit for everyday TV watching and as well periodic movies… what a great product! I love the interface for Ethernet or wireless hookup! As well the DNLA for my computer to be routed to the screen!
