I purchased this TV when it was on sale. Ambient sensor works well and allows me to watch the TV at night without bothering my girlfriend (she karate chops me if I wake her up). The speakers are good enough for us but we aren’t huge home theater buffs. A good amount of input output to mess with. Had a laptop hooked up to an HDMI port and the picture quality looks great. Didn’t notice any ghosting (part of the reason I bought this was for the 120Hz) or dead light pixels. Picked up a large amount of channels with just analog cable. Assembly was real simple; it took just a few screws. Shipping was 50 bucks and came through a 3rd party who were quick and professional.

We bought this TV a little over 2 months ago to replace a 12 year old 32 inch JVC (which I loved). This TV was very easy to set up

Picked this up for my parents on Mothers Day, went from a 27inch RCA TV (Remember RCA?) anyways, my old man LOVES this TV. The color is AMAZING! It has video settings for Sports, Movies, Gaming and standard. Ditto for the audio settings. Set up is a breeze, no more than 20minutes flat. Right now, Im trying to talk my wife into buying this TV for our bedroom… BUY THIS NOW!

I recently bought this TV for our living room. I was considering this 42″ LG and the 40″ Samsung. I was leaning toward the Samsung because I had recently bought a 46″ LCD for the family room that I really liked. But the Samsung was $150 more than the LG and it’s 2″ smaller in size. I’m really glad I choose the LG. It has awesome picture quality and very good sound (I don’t have this TV hooked to a home theatre system). It also has a lot of inputs, which for some reason aren’t listed in the product features. It has 3 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 Composite inputs,

I have had this TV for a few weeks, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted. The LK520 LG model is very similar to the earlier model LD520 (highly rated), except that the dynamic contrast is apparently a bit better for the LK520(150K to 1 vs 100K), but I suspect that may not be that significant. I also purchased the LG 42 inch LD550 last year, and I am impressed with these LG TVs. INPUT-OUTPUT It has sufficient inputs (HDMI, component, etc), and outputs, although I wish these new HDTVs had a regular stereo output (i.e., 2 RF outputs) so I could use them with my old amplifier. The LK520 only has 1 optical digital audio output. However, the sound from the LK520 speakers isn’t too bad, although most will probably want more to complete the home theater experience. The LK520 also has a USB port; you can connect your external USB devices for JPEG photos or MP3 files. (Note, this model does NOT have any internet connection capabilities–however you could hook this up to a BluRay DVD player that has this capability, if you want it). I hooked up my cable box via an HDMI cord, and the LK520 provides a clear HD picture and does well with regular SD channels also. I hooked up the TV with component inputs from my oldish DVD player, and it looked very good. FEATURES The LK520 has 120 Hz, so if you watch a lot of sports, this might be important (I don’t). Maybe the 60 Hz LG LK450 might be OK for you, and save you 60-80$. However, note that the LK520 has a slightly higher dynamic contrast compared to the 60 Hz 42 inch LG LK450 (150K vs 100K). The weight is only about 35 lbs, so it is relatively easy (if a bit awkward) to carry around. Also, the screen is a matte screen and does not have any serious reflection problems in stronger lighting situations. The stand swivels a bit, which is nice. I found the default settings good enough for me, but the TV picture can be adjusted to your preferences. It is Energy Star rated; the “intelligent sensor” adjusts the screen brightness based on the light in the rooms. Sometimes the adjustments are a bit too dark for me. However, you can adjust this easily as your wish. I don’t think you can go wrong with this excellent LG HDTV. I would rate it at 4.5 stars. It has some minor limitations on audio output and the price is relatively high for a TV with no internet connectability; so I rounded down to a 4 instead of a 5.

I just got this TV two days ago and i love it. It is a huge upgrade from my Samsung 32″ 720 60hz TV. The picture is fantastic and the 120hz refresh rate makes such a difference. I have a couple friends who have similar tvs from different manufactures and i can really tell that this lg has a better picture. Highly recommended. Easy to set up and use. And for being cheaper than a lot of its competitors i wouldn’t go with anything else. Also a very good looking TV, I’ve always liked the way lg products look.

I thought this was one of the best purchases I have made. I don’t buy luxury stuff very often; however, I thought I should treat myself to one and this was it. This TV has great quality, sound is good, has some great picture quality testing programs, and it has an easy “energy saving” button on the controller. I use it for playing my Xbox 360, which I have Netflix on as well, also I watch normal/hd television on it a lot. The 120hz refresh rate makes a big difference from a 60hz. It is more efficient than its competitor plasma by Panasonic which is about $50 to $70 more. Also, this is a Consumer Reports Recommended buy. It is the best tv in the class it is in.

This is by far the best LCD i have ever owned or seen . For the price I got this at, 609.99, it is better than some $1,000 TVs. I would recommend this TV for anyone looking to upgrade. The extra plus goes to the ability to hook up an external hard drive and play music, images, and all formats of videos from it with the need for an extender. All of my devices are hooked up via HDMI and i receive crystal clear DTS/DD5.1 from my optical output. All in all, very happy with this Television.

This is our 2nd LG…we LOVE it! I love all the features you get for the money, nothing compares to it. The intelligent sensor is my favorite…this dims/brightens the picture automatically based on the light in the room. There is even a option that will make the voices clearer
