I have bought this Camera back in Aug,10 2011 and right of the bat I like the way it take pictures and this is my first DSLR camera so it was way better quality pictures than my regular point and shoot 12 megapixel camera. So far I have no complains in its performance and battery life is long I was surprise about that one because I usually leave it on for a long time but it never got me run out of battery for a full day of use. So far the whole body is very light and plastic made material but I have no problem with that. I would have gotten the Canon DSLR T3i but for the difference of almost $200 dollars it works the same from my T3 just the 1080p video recording difference I am fine with 720p for now until I upgrade to a better one in a few years. I would definitely say that this Canon DSLR T3 is good enough for starters compare to the Nikon 3000 or higher model.
Looking for a camera that’s a big step up from a point and shoot, there are a few options. There are super-zooms, there are mirrorless, interchangable lens cameras, and there are entry-level DSLRs. For a lot of folks, a super-zoom meets their needs. But, you’re stuck with an LCD viewfinder and a camera that is, frankly, not much smaller than the T3. The mirror-less cameras have no viewfinder or one that’s optional, have a bigger sensor than the super-zooms, but they’re priced like DSLRs. The T3 is a great, small and fairly light camera, only a bit larger than a super-zoom. And, you get an APC-sized sensor, good low-light performance, interchangeable lenses, RAW, full manual mode, access to Canon’s complete line of lenses and flashes and accessories. It’s a camera you can grow with and from which moving up is easy. And the price is right.
My mom bought this camera for me as a present. Although I haven’t had much time to learn all about the camera, it takes professional looking pictures for this beginner. I wanted it to take sports pictures of my son and I finally have great action pics of him. I bought the bigger 250 IS lens(on sports mode) for these pics, and couldn’t ask for better. Easy to work on AF right out of the box. We are headed to disney and I can’t wait to see the quality of the pics I get! No more buying the expensive photos from the professional photogs there! Once semester break gets here, I’ll watch the dvd and read the book – I’m sure I’ll be a pro in no time after that!

well after going from my cannon powershot 30sxis to this i was surprised. all the pictures look great on the camera well when its time to put on the computer they are junk. would not ever get this camera tried all settings, read the book done it all. nothing seems to work for this camera. took it back and got the cannon t3i wow,
I picked up this camera about a month ago and absolutely love it. I was sick of my old cameras, which were small and compact, taking horrible pictures. I didn’t like that I couldn’t adjust the settings easily to take the type of pictures I wanted. Even with similar mega pixels, DSLRs take much better pictures than standard point and shoots because they have bigger sensors within the camera. The large sensor allows me to take great pictures in my home under low light conditions without any flash. I also don’t have to wait five seconds for the camera to take the picture like my point and shoot (I’m not always the most patient person, and I don’t like missing a perfect shot while I’m waiting for my camera!). All of the manual settings have a decent explanation about how various control adjustments will change your picture. It makes me want to go out and take pictures!
I purchased the kit with an extra 55-250 mm lens. The camera is simple to learn and use. Light in the hand. I’ve used it exclusively for sports since I purchased it last week. I downloaded the pictures and they were great. Great value for regular everyday use without having to spend thousands of dollars.
All I can say it blows away my canon XSI 100 TIMES COLOR.TONES, CONTRAST, METTERING, HIGHLITES,SHADOWS, NOISE EVERYTHING IS FAR BETTER.
Amazing camera that does most of the things that need in a photo world.
I did alot of research and really had a hard time choosing which camera to get. I definantly made the right decision. I absolutly love this camera. Right out of the box it shoots beautiful, crisp pictures. I still need to read manual on all the manual stuff you can do but so far I used the CA (creative auto) mostly and it shoots the most beautiful pictures. I also really like the sports mode, shoots very quick images. I didn’t get the extra zoom lens because I didn’t think I needed it but wish I had, not much zoom for this camera if your at a distance. Although I have cropped the pictures taken at a distance and they are still clear. The 2 pictures I uploaded, I just used the pre-set modes, potrait & creative auto and they were amazing shots. Wish I could upload more. ! I don’t think you will be disappointed.
This camera is simple to use right out of the box and produces vivid photos. The settings are intuitive and simple. This is a great camera for anyone wanting to move beyond point and shoot to SLR digital. We were shooting near professional shots of the children in our family on our first tries. Hold the button and shoot shots rapid-fire to capture that perfect shot. Highly recommended is the addition of a Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 telephoto lens for those great pics that blur the background while producing a sharp image of the desired subject.
The price is cheaper than anywhere around, and the bundle with the 75-300 lens is an incredible bargain! Shoots awesome straight out of the box on full auto, and with all the other settings available it is a better than base starter DSLR for those wanting to move up from a point and shoot.
