i haven’t had the camcorder for too long, but everything i’ve seen so far is great. The ease of use is great. The compact size and lightweight design make it easy to take on the go.
Haven’t had it more than a few months, but this is a good camera for everyday use. We bought if for our wedding and will probably need to also purchase an extra battery, but it should give at least 3 hours or so of HD recording which is nice. Can’t find any complaints so far, however it is our first camcorder other than what’s included on our cameras and phones. The stabilization is amazing!

The camera is easy to use, lightweight, and has a built in hard drive plus two slots for SD memory cards. I do not like the software that came with the camera, it is not user friendly. I downloaded some free software that works, but I should be able to use the software that came with the camera. I also don’t like the fact that you have to have the camera hooked up to a power source to download the movie to your computer. So far the battery life doesn’t seem to be that good, looks like I will have to buy a second battery.
Pro’s Right Price Size zoom No more tapes to buy and mess with Con’s Automatic White Balance, does not work very well at all. Most commands are done on the LCD touch screen and print is small and hard to touch the item you need. I admit to not having the steadiest hands in the world but by all means they are not bad. The picture jumps around a lot and image is not very stable. Nearly impossible when you zoom in on a person 40 or so feet away to get a steady shot without a tripod. Can not download from the camera unless the power cable is plugged in. Built in microphone does not pick up distant sound very well. I.E. we were at a club with a live D.J. and you could barely hear the music. Other than the H.D. feature I feel that I liked my much older Sony camcorder much better.
For the price, this video camera has it all. Small, compact, and easy to travel. For any HD video you should always purchase an extra battery. It’s worth it for peace of mind alone. I only had to replace the battery once during the day while using it during vacation. One of the primary features is the dual memory card plus built-in 32GB memory. You can set the camera to automatically switch over to the backup memory cards while filming. It has great sound as well as the HD video. Highly recommended.
I have really enjoyed the time I’ve spent on this Cannon. The features on it are great, and it was very easy to learn how to use it.
This camcorder is very lightweight, portable and easy to use. The picture quality is very good. I was looking for a camcorder with a great zoom, optical stabilizer and good picture. This little Canon has all these things and is good at each one. I used the zoom (fully extended) to record the space shuttle launch from about 6 miles out and the picture was very acceptable (using a tripod of course). The biggest negative is the poor battery life. The battery meter shows about 80 minutes when fully charged, but I only got about half that. You need to be close to an electrical outlet if you plan on using the camcorder for extended periods. Also, additional batteries are pretty expensive. The other negative is that, while an external microphone and light source, are available there isn’t any way to attach them to the camera body. One last thing, the picture quality in low light situations could be better.

I like how portable it is and how easy it is to use. The picture option is also very nice. The download onto the computer is simple and the movies look great. I recommend this camera. Reasonable price as well.
I admit that I have not used the software that the others are having issues with, so I can’t comment on that, but I would be reluctant to give a great camera a one star because of the software. We recently had a baby and wanted to buy a newer HD camera to get all the best quality video we could get for the money. I researched online reviews for days…tedious task to say the least, but I was finally set on this camera, and after finding one, I was very happy that I did. The video quality is fantastic for a small camera like this, probably about as good as you can expect in this size/price category. The low light, indoor stuff, which was my main concern, comes out great, I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend it to anyone looking for something in this price range. There is TONS of software out there, much of it free, that will do all the editing that you need if the included software doesn’t work for you, so if you aren’t afraid to take your chances on the software, don’t miss out on this great little camera.
