This projector has been Excellent in all aspects …… If you are looking for a good machine then this is the low end projector you need. Unless you want to spend $4000.00. Looks Incredible on a 106 inch screen…………..
Bought this simply for a very large picture to watch HD movies and play games but this unit surpassed all my expectations! Currently just using a Sheetrock wall primed and painted with a high quality screen paint and right out ofthe box the color was perfect, the brightness even in a moderately lit room was great and the unit is very quiet. I have this unit about 14 feet from the wall and my screen is 166 inches diagonal. I have currently used the unit for 65 hours so I can’t comment on the bulb life but I would recommend getting the 4 year service plan simply because it is cheaper than replacing the bulb one time. Like the feature telling you ho many hours are on the bulb. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has the room and a big wall!
i love this projector. bought it a while back and can say with the right set up you cant go wrong i have it set up my wall but soon will have it up on a 100inch elite sreen which isnt cheap .. but the picture quality is amazing but i say if your looking for bigger this can do way more than a100 inch i just did that size because its all i can fit for now . i tesed it with all my blu-rays and its just perfect as can be .. its very easy to hook up not to fansy but what the heck 1200 its well worth it . i would recomend to who want quality for the price just amazing>

i gave the 8350 3 stars because it doesn’t have audio out if it wasn’t for that it would have gotten 5 stars. i bought a 92 inch screen and set it up but i noticed the picture was just as good of my white wall in my living room so i took the screen back. the projector is 22 ft away from the wall i have low cellings so the screen size is 5 feet tall & 97 inces vertical which is cool if you have high cellings your screen will be abot 9 feet tall at 22 feet. the picture with cable is great i am using hdmi cables for the cable & ps3,xbox 360 on the xbox the picture is a little dark. dvds look great even using componnet cables. the one draw back is you need a receiver with hdmi pass through for the sound other than that it’s a great machine.
I bought this projector thinking that living in a basement apartment it would work great on my wall. For the first month and a half it did, even with multiple lights on. Recently I started noticing some discoloration at the bottom of the screen. It only seemed to show up when the image was red (Netflix loading screen on XBOX 360). As of two days ago I have now noticed full on image burn along the entire bottom portion of the screen. I really liked the projector up until this point and would suggest it for anyone who is not going to be playing much in the way of video games on it or watching anything with a static image (sports scores, news tickers, etc..) as it will stand a chance of burning into the LCD. In my initial research I did not see any complaints of image burn with this Epson model or previous ones, so maybe it is rare or abnormal, but be sure to limit gaming time on this projector and do a fair amount of research on other options before purchasing.
Amazing projector, i have been reading reviews for the last 6 months and doing my research. I was finally sold to the Optoma HD20 until came across this baby. Its Huge when you open the box, makes you think you paid 5k for it. The quality it awesome for being affordable 1k projector. Very easy to mount and not a lot of adjustments to do. I have it with a 115 inch screen, not a black diamond but very similar, and more affordable. Im using the new Pioneer 7.1 with Infinity speakers, i feel like on a real theater. I finally have my dream come true, to have a theater in my home. My only complaint is that to get the best out of this or any projector you have to have someone calibrated. I wish they would give more information on that but hey the Geek squad will be out of business, They just charge too much. Anyway this is about the projector so don’t think about it and buy it, get the extended warranty and sit back relax and enjoy it, you work hard and you deserve that and more.
Tis projector is amazing. First off projecting onto a 106″ screen it looks like a big screen tv. The picture is unbelievable. The contrast is amazing. I can go on and on. Take my advice if you can afford this projecto,r go for it. Period.
I did a lot of research and wanted to purchase a LCD and not a DLP projector. The picture quality is great, even when i was just shooting on a flat wall before my screen arrived. With a good quality screen the image was improved. The projector is quite large, yet this allows the fan to run quieter. I rarely hear the unit when it is on. Only briefly when it first powers up and then I no longer hear it. The reason for a 4 rating: Manual image control – easy to use, but would like to have on remote. No keystone correction – Have minimal keystone that I only recognize using the test pattern. Do not notice watching tv, gaming or in movies.
Pros: Beautiful picture. Wonderful adjustable lens, way more room than any other in this price range, (shift and zoom). Nice options. Very glad that you can turn off the default logo from start up and “No Signal”. Definitely means what it says. “Home Cinema”. Feels like a theater at home. What I have been waiting for, for years. The picture finally matches the sound. The darker parts of the image far surpass what I had expected from a projected image on a white wall. Lights up the room with lights out. Full size remote with back lighting is a nice touch. No wasted power on extra circuitry and silly useless speakers! Using as PC monitor / Movie/TV player. Even makes the Wii look higher resolution that I thought possible (with component input).
Cons: The lens is slightly touchy, as far as adjustment. Have to do the “go beyond and let settle” trick. A lot. Not bad once settled, if you plan to leave it `installed` however. Missing keystone is odd, but not needed if properly positioned. Has an odd smell every time the fans start up. Seems to go away after running a while. Might be because you get used it. Was told by an expert that this is due to the lamp heating. Had an issue with “Error in Auto Iris” twice and, If I strobe a full white to black and back, it freaks out and states “Unsupported” until I stop the strobing. Almost thinking of exchange, but will let it run a while longer. Maybe just needs to get used to me. ha. Other Thoughts: I read others comments here, as well as, reviews online. This was the winner from the Viewsonic 8200 due to the lens, specs, remote, bulb wattage, and reviewers claim of picture quality. (Darn it! I really wanted that 6000 hour lamp too!! Oh well.) And WOW is this thing huge. No matter. It’s hanging from the ceiling, out of the way. I can see why these comments are the way they are, and I am glad that I went with this one. [Please let the blue LCD hold out longer than my friend's Sony Rear projection. Yikes!]If you get the option for the combo ceiling mount, DO NOT DO IT! The legs on the mount will not fit this. Newegg was kind enough to pay shipping back and RMA a refund. Please save them the time and effort, and ignore that combo. Newegg, please remove it. I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed typing. (=-
Pros: WOW…thats really all i have to say. this was an upgrade from an older projector, and i must say wow im impressed. I did a LOT of research on projectors before I bought this one and i am not the least bit unhappy with it. I was trying to compare what i got with my brothers Panisonic AE400U because i knew how good that one looked…..this is just as comparable. I first plugged it in and my settings were at 720p and it still looked amazing! i upped everything to 1080 WOW it looks good!
Cons: none at all very happy Other Thoughts: everyone above says its big, and its larger than my old one, but i dont think its huge, most newer projectors are about that size. the only down fall to that is since it is larger than my old one the ceiling mount didnt exactly fit, i had to do a lot of adjusting and what not to get it to fit and it barely fit. so if you are upgrading, think about maybe needing a new mount.
Pros: After I finally got my satellite setup into HD it was great. looks just as good as the sony bravia 55″ for sale at the store for the same price. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
Cons: Puts out a little bit of heat but nothing I would be worried about unless you were going to put it in an enclosed area. If so I would make sure to have some ventilation. Other Thoughts: installed on the ceiling was very easy. Used the Premier Mounts PBC-UMS Universal Projector Mount with 1.5″ coupler. I haven’t bought a screen for this yet just have it projecting onto a king sized white sheet and it looks amazing. I think that with a good screen it would look even better if that is possible. Have it at 120″ right now in the living room and black ops is Awesome on it.
Pros: The picture is incredible. 1080p! HD moving images in a dark room are absolutely stunning! Still images are pretty good too.Images in ambient or bright light are clear and still good.Operation is quite quiet.Loads of options to play around with in the menu. The lens shift and zoom are awesome. It allows for a quick adjustment of the image. Zoom is impressive.Plenty of inputs.Cost. I feel like I stole it.
Cons: This thing is huge! And relatively heavy. Had to return a couple of mounts because they were too small for the mounting holes on the projector or it couldn’t carry the load. Do your homework on mounts. This proves to be harder than it seems. No keystone correction. This is a small pain, but is vastly outweighed by the pros. Other Thoughts: I set this projector up in a mid-sized conference room, ceiling mounted with a full sound system (maybe a bit overkill, I admit), and it is great. The whole system is like home theater. If you’re looking for a traveling projector, this is not your projector, but if you are looking for a relatively permanent projector, highly consider this one. I can’t comment on durability, but so far it has far exceeded my expectations.
Pros: Easy to setup. Great GUI. Very adjustable. Incredible picture.
Cons: Without calibration equipment, hard to dial in great grey scale in really dark scenes. Other Thoughts: This is such an awesome projector for the money. Bought it when they first came out. Zero regrets!
Pros: easy to set up in virtually any location of the room
Cons: very very bulky, not really portable at all. Other Thoughts: great projector and great image quality, the image looks great even on a dark brown wall. I could only imagine this the image projected on a properly primed wall with the special reflective white paint specially designed for projecting images. in addition you could move the image instead of moving the whole projector great feature at this price range. if you could afford the extra couple of hundred from the Optoma, I suggest you do because you wont regret it.
A little more expensive than the more common Business projectors out there, but this true Home Theater projector delivers really nice 1080p resolution HD TV and movie pictures to my 84 inch diagonal screen. Native 16:9 is a very nice touch too.
I stalled this to a cleint of mine in his Family 30 X 40 room as a theater and game room. I mounted on the celling and projected on 120″ fixed screen diagonal. I use BOSE souround sound sysytem, with ONKYO TRS 608 receiver. It was to big on top of the celling. Need to be compact and slim to look good on the celling. Other than that my cleint is very happy.
I cant believe Im the first to write a review on the Epson 8350. This is my first projector so I really cant tell you the ins and outs of it. But I can tell you the picture is unbelievable!! I took it right out the box, hooked it up to my PS3 and the family was watching movies in less than 10 minutes!! No need to calibrate, no need for adjustments. I was actually going to buy a screen but I think I’ll hold off. I have it on my wall and the picture is unbelievable. Blu Ray and PS3 games look better on here then on my 50
Its projected to 120″ fixed screen and the quality pictures are great. I have it only for a week but everything are working with watching TV/Cable.
Pros: Beautiful picture, exceeding my HDTV. Good remote (its backlit which is nice) very easy to setup and get using. Multiple color and brightness choices, lots of options. Very quiet.
Cons: Item puts out quite a bit of heat but I have it in a large basement so its not noticeable. Other Thoughts: I have this projector projecting onto a non-textured wall in my basement painted with flat white paint with a black border painted around that (didn’t want to invest in a screen with young children to mark/destory). The picture quality is superb, even on a wall (119″ picture size), and is better than my 61″ 1080P DLP Samsung. Everyone who has seen the picture thought that I had an actual screen on the wall and not just painted the wall…the picture is that good. I would highly recommend this product.
Pros: Beautiful picture. I have mine connected to a bluray player and I project onto a homemade 120″ screen. I keep the screen outside, and it’s gotten dirty, but the projector is bright enough at night to hide the screen’s imperfections. Since I move it in and out of the house alot, one of my favorite features is the lens displacement / shift , combined with the nice 2x zoom. I simply drop it on a table where convenient and adjust for a perfectly sized and centered image. I used to use an ‘office’ projector, and it use to hate how long it took to align the image on the screen every time I moved it.Thanks to the 2.x zoom feature, I sometimes project a 300″ screen on the side of my house and watch with the neighbors.
Cons: I use the projector outdoors, but let me be clear that the sun must be mostly down in order to see the screen. Once the sun is down completely, it’s a more than bright enough. Other Thoughts: I have not used it indoors much, only in brightly lit rooms, where the image was fine for a presentation.
Had optima 720 projector (dlp single wheel) for four years. Was great. Happened by floor model of epson 8350 for 200 off. Tried it at home. Wow. Needn’t have worried about this being lcd instead of dlp. Adjustability is much more flexible, but key reason to buy is image. Much better with 1080 and very sharp focus. Even family noticed without me saying word. Ony negative is need dark room for it to shine. Mine is a windowless media room, so is perfect for me.
Pros: High resolution, dedicated component video input, decent blacks
Cons: Fan sometimes a tad loud
Pros: I currently have this projector setup with a 120″ diagonal picture on a plain white wall. In eco-mode, the picture is bright and vibrant in low light conditions. During the day or with a few lights in the room, the picture looks washed out but is still definitely watchable. This thing is dead quiet; barely noticeable in a silent room unless you put your ear right up next to the vent.Lots of connectors in the back, but with this hooked up to my home theater receiver I only use one HDMI port. The lens shift/zoom came in very handy. You can pretty much position this projector in any part of the room and get the picture where you want it and the size you want it. I have my projector off to one side of the room and right near the floor, but I have it projecting onto the middle of the wall with a nice square picture.
Cons: It can throw out some serious heat, but that is to be expected. Can’t find any real negatives! Other Thoughts: My parents kept telling me not to waste my money on a projector and to get an LCD TV instead, but when they saw it for the first time they were blown away at how great it looks. This thing is HUGE. Like absolutely massive. Not really a con in my book, but I was expecting something the size of a business projector.Like the other reviewer said, you can definitely see individual pixels when you are close to the screen and there are no moving images, but the pixels are not at all visible during a movie. The on-screen display works fine. I like that displays how many hours the project has run total.I haven’t tried mounting it on the ceiling yet, but that’s on my to-do list.Overall this projector is amazing. I grin from ear to ear when I tell someone i have a 10-foot screen and only paid $1300 for it.And Newegg of course is the best!
