I have been using as a additional monitor for my computer as well as for. Xbox and it is a amazing
I thought this tv was extremely nice for the price. The picture is quite clear, and the features are quite useful. If I were to put a negative on this unit would be the sound quality. It also would be nice to have had 4 HDMI slots, but these are small issues to say the least. Overall it was a great deal, and I would definatly recommend this to another customer.
Bought this model as a replacement for my previous 42″ Insignia LCD that had an absolutely incredible picture. I would often comment how great things looked on that tv, and was very happy with the purchase. 1 month before the 2-year warranty expired, my old tv went to pixelations/snow/bars all combined. Hard to describe, but it was like trying to look at onscreen displays or picture through a black and white bar test pattern with some old analog snow thrown in. Geek Squad quickly diagnosed faulty board, said he couldn’t get a replacement and issued a credit. No complaints on the customer service. Bought this current model pretty much based on my last tv. First clue I was in trouble: it was $160 cheaper. But no problem, as I figured other technologies had caught up. Wrong. This tv has horrible resolution and, as others have said, it cannot follow ANY movement. 120Hz, 60Hz, it doesn’t matter. I have tried multiple settings, including the suggested alignment, and this is FAR substandard to what I had or what is out there. I find it unwatchable. This model has less inputs that the old. The remote is cheap, fragile and isn’t even universal. Very surprised. I will be returning this tv and spending more money for something better. Love that 2-year warranty, but what does it matter if the product is trash.

Bought this TV as a present for my parents, it was their first flatscreen HD TV and they really like the HD and how it looks.
My first set begain to have problems about a month after purchase. They replaced it with no problems. So far every thing is doing great and it is the best buy for the money and I’m not sure why one would want to pay more. Having said that I will have to wait and see what the longer term brings for the tv.
I would say the TV over all is a good tv for the price, very good sound for a flat screen.
I was surprised to find out how good this tv is and am super happy with it.. Most of the shows and movies make it seem so real and the quality of sound is super good for it be an hd surround sound. All in all I am very happy with this tv… Also the video quality for gaming is super nice too. I got the tv cause it was on sale and 1080p with the 120hz even though most of the stuff I do is in 60hz. I have very little complaints this is the first tv for me to own with hdmi input since my older tv stop working correctly.
I bought this TV as my first jump to a High Definition TV, yes I am a bit behind. I did not have a whole lot to spend, so I was not able to go for the top of the line televisions. I have had the Insignia 42″ 1080p for about a month now and the only issue I have with it is one I knew about at the time of purchase, the lack of inputs. Other than the lack of inputs the TV has worked as well as I expected it to. I play Xbox 360 games on it and the TV stands up great to the test of twitch reaction games up to this point. I also stream 1080p content from the Zune Marketplace and Netflix and everything looks good. If I had to name a downside that I was not expecting when I purchased the TV it would have to be the built-in speakers. They do the job, but they do not stand out. I quickly switched to send all of my audio to my home theater receiver and everything sounds much better now.

We use this for X-Box 360, watching sporting events and movies. Very clear and bright. Sound seems to be fine. The Best Buy price was very fair after doing some research on-line. The set up was very easy.
This is an excellent TV. I bought it as a second TV for my bedroom. I got it on sale for $450 new. I don’t think you can get a nicer TV in this size range for the price. Hi-Def content looks amazing. The picture quality is also outstanding for gaming on my Xbox and streaming Netflix. Standard def is about what you would expect for a 42″ 1080p TV; it’s passable but doesn’t look as good as it would on an old 480i CRT TV. The 120hz processing is nifty when you watch a Blu-ray on it and I liked it more than I expected to. For those complaining about input lag when gaming, turn it to game mode. The only reason you are getting lag is from all the extra image processing the TV has to do when you have things like the 120hz processing active. I noticed lag too when I had this option on as all that processing takes some time. Turned on game mode and just adjusted the color and contrast to my liking from there and was good to go. I don’t think a lot of people realize that when you buy an Insignia, you are getting a name brand TV. Manufacturers like Samsung, Toshiba, and LG make the internals and throw it in a custom Insignia casing. This TV has nearly identical picture adjustment options as compared to my Samsung TV that I have in the living room. And the picture is every bit as good. This leads me to think they might be the manufacturer. I paid $2600 for my Samsung 46″. Had I known how nice Insignias were, I would have saved myself well over a grand and bought one of these for the living room in a larger screen size. The sound is also pretty decent for a flat screen. Not amazing, but more than adequate for anyone who has never had the joy of nice surround sound setup. I highly recommend this TV. If you can’t get past the Insignia label on the front, go waste your money elsewhere. If you can, then you will love the picture this thing puts out and the piece of mind a 2 year warranty adds to your purchase.
