I have never had a plasma before and I truly love it. When I am watching games on it I feel like I am really in the stands with the other people. The HD channels are off the hook. My 51′ is the bomb
Do you really think that TVs in 2011 don’t come with on tv controls??? Seriously?? Dude, they are hidden touchscreen controls just like any other modern day technology has. i.e. ipods, cell phones, etc. Do you ever read instructions? They are in the lower corner bro.
This has been a great tv so far. No problems or disapointments. Easy to set up and use.

This is a great value for the size but I can definitely see the difference in the lower 720p resolution. I am returning mine today after two weeks after comparing with my 42 inch 1080p. And I can’t get over the huge difference. Text on screen is fuzzy. While this tv would be good for movies, I do not recommend it for sports or news. I will be happier with a 1080p 46 inch at about the same price
I cant believe what a great deal this tv was. Its huge and looks amazing. Im so happy with my purchase! It was really easy to hook up too.
Will start by saying I’m a retailer’s nightmare since I’ve worked at a major electronics store and I research everything to death. My previous TV was a SONY 34XBR800, which featured micro dot pitch making it one of the sharpest sets ever made, but a power hog and weighted 200 pounds. After several years of waiting, technology has caught up, just in time for my XBR to start having problems. What consumers need to know when they say 720P looks as sharp as 1080P at the store, is that while Best Buy and most electronics stores are piping a HD signal through the sets, its coming through coaxial, not HDMI, connection – why most of the pictures look the same. Having said this, the samsung WILL handle 1080i, addressing 100% of current TV broadcasting formats. Power Consumption – This was a major consideration, back of TV says 290 watts, a check on the energy star website, put power more like 129 watts under normal viewing – not bad for 51 inches. Sound Quality – 20 watts, rear mounted / direct reflecting speakers – same thing Bose does. Keep TV 6 to 10 inches from wall and you’re in for a treat. Hook up to surround system and be blown away. Picture Quality – Given the 2 or 3 million to one ratio, and 1080i capability, the picture is amazing. You’ll see details in movies or TV shows you’ve never seen before. With a bigger screen, you’ll also see the differences in film quality and come to learn that not all 720P/1080i broadcasts are created equal. Watching Mad Men was like staring at an oil painting. Burn In – This was THE major consideration and not an issue. We’re holding the contrast and brightness levels below 50% for the first 100 hours and will crank up as we go along. Picture at this level still blows away LCDs. You can see a black cat in a coal mine with no problems. Blur – none other than who grabs the remote first. Incidentally, we drove it home in our SUV – just put a tarp down and face the screen up – no problems at all… We also connected an I pad and watched a spectacular slide show. Have fun!
I bought this TV to replace an old 46″ Sony projection TV. Even thou this TV is bigger in screen size, it seems so much roomier around it because the old TV was so bulky. I have been very pleased with it so far. You can hook a blu-ray player to it via the HDMI port, but because it is 720p the Blu-ray disc is not as clear as our Sony LCD 52″ 1080p TV. I don’t consider that a problem because even thou I have a blu-ray player hooked to the Samsung I don’t have many blu-ray discs. I have this TV in the bedroom and mostly watch it at night so reflections are not a problem, but because the Plasma screen is very shiny it would reflect a lot in a bright room. I did notice when looking at our LCD TV from the side the picture degrades some, I don’t notice this with the plasma and it stays clear from any viewing angle. I watch HDTV and regular DVDs on it and the picture is excellent. The color seems very true and I have not noticed the “blur” that you can see during fast action on some LCD tvs. The sound is very good and there a quite a few ways to tweek it. Even thou it can be hooked to the internet, I probably will not do so, therefore, I can’t comment on that at all.
So far, the picture quality is great-especially connected to the Blu-Ray player!! The sound is great too. We haven’t tried any extra features on the set yet, but we have been very happy.

I have purchased numerous TVs for homes and business…. including a theatre room projector, 3 Panasonic 50″ plasmas, 1 Samsung 46″ LCD, an older 50″ LG Plasma, a couple of smaller LCD’s, a new 58″ Samsung plasma and a 46″ DLP. I always look for quality/value to be budget conscious and to ensure we have numerous TVs for our needs. Prices for various sizes and technologies (plasma, LCD, LED, LED-LCD, DLP and now 3-D) are all over the place. I viewed this TV in store and compared the picture quality against all other brands. 720 is plenty fine for my viewing and true 1080 is only accessible through Blu Ray type players for the foreseeable future. And who wants to see every ore on a persons face anyway? For the price and quality, this TV rocks! I plan to buy two more for our offices. You can ge
I purchased this T.V. because I like Samsung products but mostly because of the look. The very small bezel around the screen appeals to me greatly. Picture quality is excellent. Note: There are no controls on the T.V. itself. All functions must be completed from the remote.
It might sound crazy but I returned a 46″ LED Samsung and got this TV for about $175 less than what I paid for the LED. I’ve been searching for a TV for a couple of months and I never wanted a Plasma. However, after reading reviews on amazon and bestbuy about this TV. I changed my mind and got this plasma. This TV has great picture quality / sharpness / colors . No ghosting pictures. Also, after a lot of research I figured 720p is great for general family viewing. I was only searching for 1080p initially, but I changed my mind on this one too after reading reviews. Overall I am extremely happy that I got this TV for a great price. One more thing. some reviews say that plasma display is dull compared to LCD/LED and may not be good for well lit areas, but don’t worry, I’ve increased the brightness and its great.. The disappointment is it has only 2 HDMI ports. However, thats not a big deal as I can get a hub.
I have 3 LED televisions throughout the home and am pleasantly surprised to see what a great picture you get. This TV performs as well as the best from 2 or 3 years ago…
I needed an inexpensive big screen with a great picture and I found it in this tv. The main uses for this tv are HD tv watching, movies, and video games. Excellent color and contrast. Also with it’s 600HZ refresh rate, I have no issues with fast motion on the tv. Glare really isn’t a problem either and I have direct light on the tv. The only thing I would like is another HDMI input. The sound is better than I expected for a flat panel but a Soundbar is a nice accessory.
