For a high end television, the shudder on the set should be improved. To much jerking on certain frames.

I purchased an open box special, which saved me a good amount of money, to replace an older LCD Samsung TV. I have to say that I’m very satisfied with this purchase. I always do extensive research before purchasing a high-dollar product and the reviews on this TV were very high. I even brought my wife to the store and asked her to look at just the picture quality of all the TV on the wall (30 or so models available) and asked her to pick out the one with the best picture quality – this one was it. I have to admit the price is a bit high…but the quality is so worth it. If you are one of those lucky ones to get an open box special, you will not regret the extra savings on a fantastic product. I love the design, the features, ease of use and the fact you can surf the web and watch your favorite program concurrently. I especially like the fact that it will always check for firmware updates automatically. It will take a little while to set up as you have complete control over every aspect of your display..but once it’s set up to your liking, you will really enjoy your movie watching and TV watching experience. One last thing, LED TVs rock without all the heat that a LCD TV generatee….LOVE IT! Do yourself a favor and pick one up…FOOTBALL IS AWESOME on this TV!

The picture is so clear and sharp we have noticed facial features of actors who we have watched for years on some of our favorite shows that we never seen before. The colors are true, picture is great, doesn’t matter if we are watching with the window blinds open or we have them closed and watching in the dark. We have watched via our satelite receiver, dvd player, game console, and karaoke machine. We have use the wireless feature to view vacation pictures and videos that are stored on our computer. The Samsung 8000 60″ screen sure beats looking at a 4×6 picture or 17″ computer screen. It was very easy to connect the tv to the internet wirelessly. We haven’t found anything that we haven’t liked about our tv.

I have been waiting for this TV since I saw it at CES in Vegas in January, and while I love the design and the features I am disappointed by the quality and some important features that don’t work well. Here are the positives and negatives. Positives: – Very nice looking – great piece on the wall. – Lots of great online features, eliminating the need for an external media box. – Nice picture quality – 3D looks good. Negatives: – Exchanged the TV twice – first one I got had burnt pixels. The second one I got had a gray shade in the upper right side of the screen. The 3rd TV seems to be working fine with no apparent issues (except for the issues below). – The remote control is nice (it has a standard remote on one side and a query remote on the other side), but the query portion does not work well. In all 3 TVs the standrd remote works fine but query remote does not work well at all – sometimes it does not respond and other times there is a long delay from the time you press a botton to the time you see action on the screen. I called customer support and they agreed to send me a new remote after going through a 45 minute process. And on top of that, they wanted a $325 hold on my credit card to make sure that I will send the old one back (they sell these remotes for $99 on the Samsung website!!). – The built-in wireless LAN performance is very poor. The connection is intermittent and the data rates are very low. I keep getting a message that I need more than 4 mbps to use some of the online streaming services – I have a 12 mbps service. I then connected the TV to an ethernet line (through a wireless bridge that is connected wirelessly to my access point) and things work great, so I am sure that the built-in WLAN device is the issue. Samsung technical support told me that the wireless access point needs to be close to the TV for WLAN to work properly (mine is about 30 feet away) – this is rediculous, the range that WLAN supports is well above 100 feet. If true, then the design is very poor! – For such a high end TV, I was expecting a bit more – at least for things to work as they claim!!!

The picture is awesome….. pairing the remote took a number of attempts and using the remote takes significantly more pressure on the buttons than expected, especially when compared to all the other remotes I have to use. The remote cannot be programmed to control other devices, including any surround system and the audio output on the TV is fixed, not variable. So changing the volume requires a second remote. Seems like an huge oversight for such an upscale TV. Do the engineers at Samsung actually use their own products? Having the remote control a variable audio out seems like an easy remedy. It isn’t like any one would actually use the speakers on this TV…. seems like a no brainer to me….
