The smart TV component AllShare, does not work when you have a MAC network at home. Doesn’t Samsung know that 50% of people use MACS now? This means you cannot stream any content at all to your TV if you use a MAC and not a PC. BRUTAL! Customer service acted as if they didn’t care at all about MAC users. Sony and Panasonic do work with mac so I’m taking this TV back.
If you have no plans of surfing the web on your TV, then this model is the one you want over the 8000 series, my opinion is you do not need to pay the extra money for the 64″ version either. Because this TV is 1080P, you can literally stick your face in the screen if you really want to be immersed in the 3D experience. I watched F5:City in Space on DirecTV, and it was like being there, I sat 4 feet from the screen so all I saw was the TV and not the room, very fun. But even DirecTV cannot compete with a 3D Blu-Ray for realism. There is a buzz that everyone talks about, but with sound turned on, and 4 feet from the TV, I never heard it, but mute the sound and you may notice it. There is a terrible glare if you happen to have a window on the opposite wall from the TV, but we just went the aluminum foil route to solve that temporarily. If you have a receiver like ours, you have to change channels on the receiver when you change the TV’s input to another source, not so with this TV, it has a single optical digital output so you can leave the receiver on the same input. There is a “sunglasses” effect when you turn on the glasses, but this does not bother us when watching 3D content. We used the TV as it was setup right out of the box and have not tweaked or calibrated it yet, still the 2D and 3D picture quality is excellent. If you gauged native 3D content as a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, then the 2D to 3D effect would be a 6 or 7. Set the 3D depth to 10, and 2D sources will have a noticeable depth, but nothing like native 3D content. One more thing and then I’m tired of typing, we have noticed no motion blur at all with this set during fast motion scenes or sports.
This tv is awesome. Ditto on all the other reviews. Now things not mentioned is the remote has a very cheapy feel to it. It has 1 component input, through the special cable connector. 4 hdmi’s 1 usb. So if you plan to connect a old vhs and a …. Oh wait thats it all you can connect to it. This tv is made for everything hdmi. So the wii will go in component or composite and thats all your allowed. Tv runs pretty cool. The netflix through my samsung smart blue ray dvd brings picture quality to a whole new level. Netflix on surround sound now that the dvd has a fiber optic output to my onkyo. Remember that picture quality input is 60hz and your tv reproduces it to 600 hz. Direct tv box looks ok through hdmi. But looks better through component, thats because of the processor that they are using is low quality for hdmi. The local hd looks perfect. Sound is ok with different audio settings. Black levels look crazy good. And the conversion of any source in 3d is good. Overall this plasma has terrific picture quality. Doesnt have that home video camera picture quality. The 3d glasses are c r a p tho, because there is glare inside the glasses. Therefor the room has to be very dark to enjoy the 3d video.

Easy menus to navigate and set; terrific picture which shows macro blocking maybe 1 minute a month; acceptable sound quality; the remote is designed so that it is not secure on most surfaces … tends to rolls sideways when tounched for changing channels, volume, etc.
This 7000series plasma is simply amazing. I have owned 2 Samsung LCDs and 1 other samsung plasma (550) series and this tv is the by far the best in every single aspect. Obviously the choice of LCD, LED or plasma is a matter of choice but because of THIS tv I will only buy plasma as long as they continue to make them. On this set I have not seen any signs of IMAGE RETENTION. The only part about my last plasma was the image retention which is not to be confused with SCREEN BURN IN. Image retention goes away screen burn in does not. Even watching a game on tv the score board or static image on the screen does not retain on the screen. I watch a lot of soccer and the score boards are on the screen for atleast 50 min without and change and still has not affected the TV. I also use the TV alot for gaming and no problems. The smoothness of this tv is incredible same as any other plasma (main reason why I choose plasma) everything looks amazing cable, blu ray, video games now from owning so many other setsI would recommend spends the extra money and get the higher quanlity TV . Worth every penny. All in all a great TV. 3D is also amazing I just watched the x-games 2011 that was brodcasted on ESPN 3D and it was beautiful. I hear there is no real way to measure contrast ratio and each company measures differently. Which this is probably true but all I own is samsung TVs so this higher contrast ratio is alot better then my 550 series you can tell a huge difference between the 2 sets. BUY THE TV YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED
Outstanding picture quality. 3D is great. Only complaint is with some of the ancillary controls. PIP for instance has no easy way to control the channels if you’re using a cable box rather thatn over the air. Came bundled with glasses and blue ray player. All worked right out of the box. Blue ray synced nicely to the tv.
Let me start by saying WOW (LOL) this tv is the best picture i have seen after viewing many different ones at the store. I had the new lg infinia and was not to please with it. at the store they had this one hooked up next to it and oh my god the picture was out of this world i cant say one bad thing about it and plus getting the 3d started kit was way cool. the picture will blow your mind!!!!! never have i seen such clear smooth movement. i have read and read blogs and reviews and this tv was what worked for me for all around. there is a very slight buzz noise but you can only hear it when the sound is turned off and that never happens. I did have one dead pixel in middle of the screen and noticed that in the store there was one out on that model also, I know crazy i seen one pixel but that tells you how much i pay attention to detail so you will be happy if you buy this tv. just make sure you have no pixels out b4 30 days are up, im getting a new one and will keep getting them till i get a perfect one cause i love this tv. I played ps3 and games are GREAT!!! i played 3d and They were Really Good not as good as theater but thats to be expected, my wife says WOW though. the options are really good but can take a few min to figure out there is a game mode that you have to find and cinema smooth that really helps. I havent figured how to make the picture zoom in when wide screen movies the option is there but it dosent highlight for me to pick it but there is a stretch option that works just fine leaving 1 to 2 inches on top and bottom. the sound that comes from just the tv is Great and very clear. I really wanted to write this because when i was reading reviews they helped me and i wanted this to help others. If your really pickey and want the best deal for your dollar and want to be WOWED
then I think this will do the job. Hope you Enjoy yours like i do mine.
Let me start by saying we’ve only had this television for a couple days. So far it’s just awesome! The blacks are amazing! This does have a standard, energy saving mode, which gave us some changes in the background light with all inputs, but when we switched it to movie mode, we don’t get these changes. I think the energy saving mode is great for regular use, but we do enjoy the movie mode because the picture is just that much better. We put it in our home theater and it looks amazing! We watched some of the NBA playoffs and it looks like you’re standing right next to the players. We’ve hooked up a PS3 and tried out the 3D and it looks great too! Originally we weren’t even interested in purchasing a 3D TV but we bought this in the bundle with the Samsung Starter Kit from BestBuy.com so now we have a couple glasses, not enough for the whole family yet. But did see that Samsung is now offering the glasses for $49. Unfortunately they’re out of stock right now. Overall we’re thrilled with the quality and value of this TV. I think it was totally worth it! It’s also a smart TV, so we’re able to connect via WiFi to Facebook, pandora, netflix, and more. We just hooked that feature up today, so I haven’t had much experience with it yet, but am looking forward to using it!
